Sawtooth Wave Jig Description

The sawtooth wave jig is a highly efficient gravity separation device designed for the beneficiation of coarse and medium-grained minerals based on density differences. It primarily consists of a jigging chamber, a drive system, a screen plate, and a discharge control mechanism. The drive system generates a unique sawtooth-shaped waveform—characterized by a rapid upward stroke followed by a slow, controlled downward pulse—through an eccentric drive or hydraulic mechanism. This specific wave profile enhances bed fluidization and particle stratification, allowing heavier particles to settle faster and more accurately than conventional jigs.


The jig features a flexible screen plate and an automated discharge system that continuously removes concentrated heavy minerals. Its sawtooth wave pattern ensures improved separation efficiency, higher recovery rates, and better adaptability to a wide range of particle sizes. With adjustable stroke length, frequency, and water flow, the jig offers precise process control and stable operation. It is widely used in medium- to large-scale mining operations for its high capacity and reliability.

Working Principle

Sawtooth Jig Machine need water to work, and it loosens materials in vertical alternative water-flows, and it forms different layers of materials of different densities and discharges both layers from up and down discharging ports separately. The basic composition of jigger is jigging chambers, also called jigging boxes, and there are screens in each chamber.

Water and raw ore will be fed from one end of the jigger screen, the ore granules will move in the vertical alternative water-flows. Layers will be formed because of density difference of materials. The minerals with small density will be in the up layer and will flow together with the up pulp flow while material with bigger density will be in the down layer and will discharged from the down discharging port as jigging concentrate.

Applications

It is widely used to separator tungsten, tin, gold, red iron, brown iron, manganese, titanium, antimony, lead, tantalum, niobium and other minerals.

There are many applications where the jig separator of particular value and cannot be equaled for economical and efficient performance. They are effective in processing precious and base metal, rare metal and non-metallic minerals.
